Hi, sorry to resurrect this post, but is there any point in using both sites then? Is one a subset of the other or do both sites contain some unique content? For example, it seems like SM has anti-patterns/uml which I'm not sure exists on refactoring guru. 

If one of the websites isn't simply a subset of the other, I guess it's some marketing trick then but honestly that's just making it harder for users.
