I wonder if it would be more realistic to write "start : Date1" and "end : Date2". (I cannot imagine the same symbol being used for both.)

Hi! I believe, the Date is the type of field. Since both start and end are dates, they should be of the same type.
Ah! I see it's UML, right? (I was thinking "start" and "end" were keywords.) - Good job, I've got your Design Patterns book - very good didactics there, too. THANKS!
